Starting today until end of June, the City is accepting grants applications up to $4000, 000 NTD per case. The applicant who obtained consents from all joint owners can also ask for the City Government to renovate on their behalf. Taipei City Construction Management Office said: “Public pedestrian pavement has been well maintained by Public Works Department, but privately owned pedestrian sidewalk is often old, damaged and in poor condition, causing pedestrian accidents such as fall or stumble. To ensure safe sidewalks available for the public, the Office particularly planned a $20,000,000 NTD budget to encourage community initiate renovations on their own. The average of subsidy is $3,000 NTD per square meter, and up to $4 million NTD per case. Communities are encouraged to apply.In addition, older community can ask for Taipei City Construction Management Office to renovate on their behalf after obtaining consents from every resident and a joint Land Use Agreement. Once the application has been submitted, the Office will invite Department of Urban Development, Department of Civil Affairs and New Construction Office as such to evaluate and arrange priorities based on cost effective efficiency for every case.
