"226 Project" Helps Complete Illegal Constructions Self-Improvement

Up until March 20th, 218 homeowners have on their own, hired hands to improve their buildings. Originally scheduled on March 23rd to execute improvement on 8 sites also got an early completion on March 22nd as homeowners rushed their demolishment work over the holidays.Wen-Ting Gao, Director of Construction Management Office attributed “226 Project” success to not only the constant reminders from Taipei City Construction Management Office to homeowners to improve on their own before March 20th in order to avoid forced demolishment; but also other relevant offices from the City Government started legal assistance and advisory services for the public. Early January Department of Civil Affairs conducted a comprehensive 226 visits.
