As Chen Huang-cheng, Director of Taipei City Construction Management Office, said, due to differences in their lifestyle, concept of autonomy, ideas or practices, community residents often have different thoughts about apartment building management, which may lead to a variety of stubborn disputes among them. If such disputes are not timely resolved, they may be aggravated and disrupt the harmony of the community. To settle such disputes, the Construction Management Office provides the opportunity for citizens to take the approach of “administrative first, judicial later” to timely and effectively resolve disputes in apartment buildings, in the hope of protecting the rights of apartment building households and reducing judicial proceedings resulting from disputes, further enhancing the living quality of the community. In addition, Taipei City Apartment Building Dispute Mediation Committee is composed of experienced experts with special knowledge or skills in apartment building management and maintenance, construction, social welfare, land administration, law or related dispute mediation. Therefore, it is believed that committee members can assist in quickly resolving problems and effectively settle disputes among residents, helping citizens maintain a good living environment in apartment buildings.
