To recover the environment during the weekend as soon as possible, Taipei City Government started removing election flags and banners since 10 pm on the Election Day. Up until the next morning, the total of 27066 flags and banners were removed. Taipei City Election Campaign Advertisement Management Autonomous Regulations have been amended since August 27 2014 to ban the placement of election campaign advertisement on public facilities. Therefore, the number of advertisements has been greatly reduced. In comparison with the number in last election 135283 advertisements were removed, it reduced 108217 pieces.Director of Taipei City Construction Management Office Kao Wen-ting suggests that in order to recover the city's cleanness after the election as soon as possible, Taipei City Government began removing the campaign flags and banners from 10 pm on Nov. 29 on. With the help of each unit, up until the 30th, 27066 flags and banners were removed so as to make sure the city can be recovered to the state before the election on Monday.Director Kao points out that besides the flags and banners, there were also advertisements in the form of signs. Except for those having applied for the placement permit, the rest shall all be removed before December 2 2014. Overdue, Taipei City Construction Management Office would remove them forcibly from December 3 2014 on.
