Fortunately, no people or vehicles were injured or damaged. The Taipei City Construction Management Office is especially reminding businesses and construction sites to pay particular attention to the security of their signs and scaffolding in order to avoid endangering public safety.The Construction Management Office said the Central Weather Bureau today (14th) released a strong wind warning. From this afternoon through tomorrow (15th) morning, strong gusts of wind approximately grade 8 to 10 will occur in the northern region. The Construction Management Office has forwarded notices for each construction site to pay attention to preventative measures. The Construction Management Office especially reminded that as Taiwan was about to enter typhoon season. Businesses should overhaul repair of signs and advertising objects. Construction sites should be well prepared against typhoons, reinforcing the scaffolding, canvas and other items. In the event of strong winds, the public should also be particularly vigilant, paying close attention to possible falling objects in their surroundings.The Construction Management Office also stressed that placement of signs and scaffolding requires an application process. Erecting these objects without authorization runs the risk of violating laws and regulations.
