Penalty and Compulsory Demolishment of Advertising Bamboo Scaffoldings reconstructed after pervious demolishment by the Taipei City Government
Many large-sized irregular outdoor advertising bamboo scaffoldings have been seen along Dadu Road in Taipei due to its advantages of being straight and wide; such bamboo scaffoldings have damaged city appearances and public safety as well. Some of them may have been even constructed after being previously demolished by the Taipei City Government. The Taipei City Government will reinforce further penalties and compulsory demolishing on those reconstructed ones.According to Director Chang Kang-Wei of the Construction Management Office, all of the bamboo scaffoldings are ill-structured with a high risk of falling under strong winds and should be demolished complying with the Building Act; however, the demolished ones may be easily reconstructed in no time due to the low construction costs. The Construction Management Office completed the demolishing of the 18 advertising bamboo scaffoldings along Dadu Road on Oct. 4th. 2013 and composed a list of the advertising agents and owners that reconstructed the demolished scaffoldings to gain control. Any reconstructed ones shall be fined NTD$80,000-200,000 according to Article 95-3, Building Act and compulsorily demolished again to maintain high quality city appearances and public safety. For any illegal advertising bamboo scaffoldings, please report to the Taipei City Government by calling 1999. Let’s protect the city appearances and public safety of Taipei together!
