TCG Shuts Down Collapsed Construction Site at Lane 805, Beian Rd.
The Construction Management Office (CMO) has shut down the construction site at Lane 805, Beian Rd. at which the contractor’s careless excavation induced collapses of roadbeds and asked the building contractor (Guxuan Construction Corporation, 鼓玄建設) to completely repair roadways under 24-hour monitoring of officials.
According to Director Chang Kang-Wei of Construction Management Office (CMO), the measures for construction security should be prepared in construction works for neither dangers nor threats to public security or the construction site shall be shut down and the contractor fined. The works in the construction site which was shut down for emergency repair should not be resumed until the recovery plan is submitted and approved by specialists and finally fulfilled, and CMO will positively help sufferers whose residences were damaged for any repair.
Mr. Chang further explained CMO, which assigned officials to investigate the scene while receiving citizens’ responses, has invited Mr. Yu Lie, President of the Taiwan Professional Civil Engineers Association, to instruct emergency rescue and always considers safety of neighbors’ residences as first priority. The works should not be resumed until a recovery plan is submitted by the building contractor, explained to residents and fulfilled.
