3. Award Ceremony for Outstanding Apartment Building Rating
The award ceremony for 2012 Taipei Outstanding Apartment Building Rating was held at Taipei City Hall (1F, Shen Bao-Zhen Room) on Nov. 26, 2012, 10:00 AM. Mr. Hau Lung-Bin, Mayor of Taipei City, awarded 22 certificates of merits, medals or prizes to the winning communities.Mayor Hau said the awards glorify all residents living in winning communities which consist of not only excellent administrators but also residents who have consensus and willing to keep their environment. He further explained, the prize, a small number of money, is a valuable symbol that the environmental quality is collectively upgraded by all residents living in a community.The buildings in the evaluation campaign this year were divided into five groups, i.e., (1) Small Residential Community (with less than 80 households); (2) Medium Residential Community (with at least 81 households but less than 150 households); (3) Large Residential Community (with more than 151 households); (4) Business Building (factory building; commercial office building; mixed residential commercial district); (5) Aged Building (buildings with building occupation permits issued before the end of 1997), according to the Department of Urban Development. The outstanding communities with characteristics singled out in field surveys by 19 scholars and experts serving in or engaged by the Taipei City Government received prizes from NTD 20,000 to NTD 50,000 and medals.According to Mr. Ding Yuh-Chyurn, Commissioner of Department of Urban Development, the campaign of Outstanding Apartment Building Rating which has been held for 14 consecutive years is intended to encourage residents in a community to build consensus, positively join community management, construct premium living environment and upgrade inhabiting quality by cooperating with neighborhood, village or community development societies. The effects starting from a single community and gradually expanding in more communities linking lines or even a plane will optimize landscapes and upgrade Taipei City as a graceful urban model for living.”The efforts of all winning communities were publicly exhibited to all journalists in the award ceremony which was held on Nov. 26 from 10:00AM to 12:00AM.
