In order to improve city appearances and promote order to the outdoor advertising signboards, the Taipei City Government has initiated the “principles for the priority of inspections on irregular outdoor advertising signboards”; 7 types of irregular outdoor advertising are listed on the priority list for inspections.According to Director Bien, there were 135 reported cases based on the inspections upon the street blocks that jeopardized fire engines and firefighting activities; 135 of them had completed their improvements. Moreover, based on the inspections on the 22 roads with widths over 40 m, there have been 313 irregular advertising signboards listed for further improvements under the city government’s supervisions. This truly demonstrates that the Taipei City Government’s determination for city appearances and landscape improvement is obvious and unshakable.Director Bien emphasized that there would be on-going inspections to improve city appearances with the following measures:1. On-going initiation of “Program of Inspections and Demolishment of Irregular Outdoor Advertising Signboards” will be applied to take the inspection and improvement measures over those irregular outdoor Signboards that jeopardize public safety, public transportation and city appearances.2. 44 roads over 30 m in width and the ones over 40 m in length in Taipei City are on the priority list for inspections and improvement measures over those irregular outdoor signboards that jeopardize public safety, public transportation and city appearances.3.
