Taipei Sewerage Systems Office Wins Double Honors at the 2025 FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Awards
The 2025 FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Awards ceremony was held on July 29 at the Grand Hyatt Taipei to recognize outstanding projects from both public and private sectors. Taipei City’s Sewerage Systems Office (SSO), under the Public Works Department, received two major distinctions: the Gold Award in Best Management & Maintenance for the “2024 Sewer Pipeline Inspection, Repair, and Life Extension Turnkey Project (Tender No. 2),” and the Excellence Award in the Best Planning & Design Category for the “Neihu Sewage Treatment Plant Sport and Recreation Park Environmental Revitalization Turnkey Project.” Taipei’s sewerage network spans more than 2,722 kilometers and has been in operation for over 50 years. To ensure system reliability and extend the service life of its pipelines, SSO became the first in the nation to launch a 12-year, four-phase “Sewer Pipeline Inspection and Life Extension Program.” The initiative emphasizes routine inspections and long-term repair and rehabilitation planning, and dedicated funding for sustainable management. These efforts aligned closely with the judging criteria for the Excellence Awards, leading to the Gold Award recognition. The Neihu Sewage Treatment Plant Sport and Recreation Park Environmental Revitalization Turnkey Project was designed with inclusivity and sustainability at its core. The project integrates environmental education facilities and promotes water recycling, while also featuring barrier-free access, aesthetic upgrades, and renewable energy applications. By delivering an age-friendly recreational environment that merges environmental stewardship with urban livability, the project embodied the award criteria of “innovation, aesthetics, smart green building, net-zero emissions, and healthy sustainability.”
