The beam-raising ceremony for the new construction of the Xinglong Station, under the Taipei City Fire Department, was held this morning (June 26), led by Fire Department Commissioner Mo Huai-chu and Deputy Director Chang Yu-Hui of the Public Works Department, along with other related personnel. The ceremony included prayers for the smooth progression of the project, its timely completion, and the safety of all involved staff. Hsiao Chih-Long, Chief of the Public Works Section at the New Construction Office of the Public Works Department, noted that with the increasing number of residential and commercial buildings in Wenshan District, Taipei City, the demand for firefighting and emergency services has continued to grow. The construction of the new Xinglong Station aims to shorten emergency response times within the district and establish a modern, fully equipped disaster response base. The site covers approximately 1,047 square meters, with a planned structure of six floors above ground and two basement levels, totaling a floor area of about 4,680 square meters. The design and supervision are handled by W.Y. Chen Architect & Associates, while the construction is contracted to Wenchang Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. Electrical and HVAC engineering works are undertaken by Wanxin Engineering Co., Ltd. and Jiu Jen Enterprise Company Limited, respectively. The building's seismic resistance coefficient has been enhanced by 1.5 times to ensure the safety of personnel and the public during extreme disasters. Tian Shih-Chen, Director of the Zhongzheng Office of the Public Works Section, further noted that project began on December 1, 2023. Today’s beam-raising ceremony marks a significant milestone in the project. The overall construction is expected to be completed by December 2025. It is hoped that the project will be completed on schedule and to the expected quality standards, thereby strengthening the disaster response capacity in Wenshan District, enhancing the safety of firefighting personnel on duty, and improving the quality of public service, continuing to safeguard the lives and property of the citizens.
