Congratulations! TBS Shines at the 60th Golden Bell Awards with Two Major Wins
The 60th Golden Bell Awards for Radio Broadcasting were held on the evening of October 11 at the Taipei Music Center, where the Taipei Broadcasting Station (TBS) delivered an outstanding performance, taking home two major awards. Among them, The Golden Years of Zhongshan Hall, hosted by Judie Shih, received the “Best Arts & Culture Program Host Award,” while Relish the Golden Times, hosted by Ania, won the “Best Lifestyle Program Award.” These honors recognize TBS’s long-standing dedication to promoting the arts and preserving cultural heritage. Judie Shih, winner of the “Best Host in an Arts & Culture Program Award,” explores the rich history of Zhongshan Hall in her program The Golden Years of Zhongshan Hall. Through in-depth interviews, archival research, and personal recollections from local figures, the program highlights the landmark’s historical events, cultural activities, and social transformations since its completion, showcasing the evolving role and influence of this iconic building across different eras. “Zhongshan Hall, which will celebrate its 90th anniversary next year, carries the weight of Taiwan’s political, artistic, and cultural history,” said host Judie, expressing her gratitude to Zhongshan Hall. “I would like to thank Director Meng-Fang Jiang of Zhongshan Hall, Professors Tung Shen, Yu-Ling Chao, Yu-Ling Chao, and the teachers of the Taiwan Dance Research Society for taking part in the planning and recording of ‘The Golden Years of Zhongshan Hall.’ Together, we have revived its grandeur, making art and culture more accessible to the public.” According to TBS, Relish the Golden Times won the “Best Lifestyle Program Award” in its very first year on air. Host Ania shared,“Relish the Golden Times is a cultural and historical sound-scape travel program inspired by the ‘Age of Discovery Map of Taipei.’ We believe that where there is land, there are people—and where there are people, there are stories. Every word we speak carries the warmth and affection of this island we call home.” TBS Director Shao-Chien Hu remarked that receiving the honor at the 60th Golden Bell Awards not only affirms the achievements of TBS, but also highlights the dedication and teamwork of its entire production crew. He expressed appreciation to the judges for their recognition, to the hosts for sharing beauty through their voices, and to the production team for their professional support. Hu added that TBS will continue to produce high-quality programs that accompany listeners in their daily lives and share the many wonderful stories of Taipei.
