Today is a special day! The atrium on the first floor of Taipei City Hall is buzzing with the joyful laughter of children and the warm smiles of their parents. The annual TPCG Employee Family Day is taking place on August 1. By combining the event with the celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a total of 813 children and parents from 291 families will join this warm and sweet family event! Walk into the workplace hand-in-hand with your children Children explore everywhere with curiosity and excitement in their eyes. From the spacious, well-lit city hall atrium to the offices on each floor, every corner becomes a new horizon for them to discover. Children will feel the quiet and warm vibe of government agencies on their first close encounter with the work environment of their parents. Apart from allowing children to experience the work environment of their parents and understand the workplace where their parents spend every day working hard, the event also enables parents and children to learn about the value of multiculturalism joyfully through the comprehensive indigenous cultural activities and lets parents let go of the stress of their daily work and re-discover their own world through the imaginative eyes of their children. The joy and excitement the children will bring to the workspace will help employees realize that their work aims to create a better future for their children in addition to simply earning themselves a living. Highlighting the quality time for parents and children with dances and songs The wonderful performance in the style of the Paiwan and Atayal tribes presented by the Taipei Indigenous Children’s Choir will open the event. The beautiful singing and gorgeous dancing of their performance will attract the total attention of parents and children. In the lively song activity brought by the children’s theater beloved by parents and children, parents will be able to relieve work stress, and children will follow along with the actions and rhythms, laughing along the way Pupils from the TPCG Staff Non-Profit Kindergarten (run by the Public Service Association in Taipei) will also showcase an exciting performance at the event. Looking at the lovely little dancers on the stage, parents watching will not be able to help taking photos with their mobile phones to record such a precious moment. The mayor will also attend the event to take group photos with all participants to add more sweet memories to this special day. Enjoying the fun of parent-child interaction through comprehensive stall activities Lots of stall activities are arranged for the event to make the even more fun! ◎ Balloon Magic Moment: When balloon experts demonstrate the balloon shaping skills onsite, the children will be mesmerized, and parents will be invited to create balloons in various lovely styles with their children. When holding their DIY balloons, children always show the sense of achievement on their face. ◎ Culture Exploration Trip: Stalls for Indigenous Peoples’ Day enable parents and children to understand indigenous cultures more profoundly. Children can put on beautiful indigenous clothes to take photos, with parents carefully straightening up the setting for them, manifesting the warmth of parent-child interaction in every act. ◎ File Application Promotion: The file application service is presented through interactive experimentation for parents and children to understand the multifaceted applications of file digitization. Children will also be able to understand how to process data with modern technology and experience the convenience and swiftness of digitized services through the guidance of parents. ◎ Technology and Culture Experience: “Indigenous Cultures x VR Immersive Experience Station” might become the children’s favorite experience of the event. After putting on the VR headset and experiencing the indigenous lifestyle, children can share what they have seen and heard with their parents, their conversations full of surprises and excitement about what they’ve learned. ◎ Eco-friendly Toy Exchange: The “Taipei Toy Library” stall enables children to learn the concepts of sharing and cherishing. Parents will patiently help them choose pre-owned toys for exchange. During the exchange, they can also educate children on the importance of cherishing resources. Learning with joy and growing through accompaniment In addition to creating sweet memories for parents and children, this event also allows children to understand the value of indigenous cultures. Through experiencing the songs, dances, clothes, and traditional architecture of indigenous peoples, and with the in-depth understanding of the historical significance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, children develop the respect for and the understanding of indigenous cultures in the accompaniment of parents. Hard-working parents hardly have the opportunity to accompany their children to engage in so many meaningful activities. In addition to strengthening the bond between parents and children, Employee Family Day also enables children to understand better and identify more with the work of their parents, seeing the meaning and value in their service. Through this Employee Family Day, TPCG has successfully built a warm platform for the family of employees to grow together through learning and laughter and let indigenous cultures be learned about and spread through parent-child interaction. Each smile and each embrace will be the most precious fruits of this special day.
