As of Jul. 2025, the number of legally registered factories in the City was 893 wherein 122 are manufacturers of computers, electronic and optical products; 116 are manufacturers of fabricated metal products; 115 are manufacturers of food products; 69 are printing and reproduction factories of recorded media; 74 are manufacturers of machinery and equipment; 59 are manufacturers of electrical equipment; and 52 are manufacturers of electronic parts and components; totaling 607 factories, and accounting for 67.9% of the total number of factories in the City. They are the major categories of the City’s existing factories. Distribution by administrative region: Neihu District tops the rank with 395 factories, followed by Nangang District with 222 factories, together making up 69.1％ of the total.
